YOUR MISSION: Help U.S. Teenagers grow their brains
Dear students from another country:
Your mission is very serious. Teenagers in the USA need help learning about other countries. I am a high school teacher. My students are in grades 9-12, ages 14-18 and they are not able to speak another language. I want my students to learn about your country.
I have an important mission and I ask you to create six items for me to pick up on MONDAY.
THIS IS YOUR WORK for this weekend. You can start IMMEDIATELY.

You are invited to a TEXT and EMAIL PARTY. For each text message, you receive 10 points up to 5 messages. Each text message needs to include a question and an answer.
Here are SIX questions. You can choose from the list.

2. What is an important city in your country? Not the capital. Can you recommend a video from YouTube about that city?
3. What city do you want to visit in the USA?
4. What do you want to do when you are here in Florida? (Maybe my students can answer your question and they can give you some advice)

6. What is your favorite music right now? Send us the lyrics and then explain what happens in the song and why it is such a good song.
Answer these questions:

What happens in the song?
Why is the singer singing? Why was this song written? What is the purpose of the song?
Why is this an important song? What happens in you when you hear this song?
What will happen later in the song, after the song ends?

"The Story" by Brandi Carlisle… “Every line across my face tells you the story of who I am..."
Who is singing? answer: a sad woman who has been hurt by many people.
Who is the singer singing to? (the audience) Answer: she is singing to her future lover. She explains that she has wrinkles for a reason.
What happens in the song? Answer: She tells about how she got the lines and how other people don't know her. They judge her for her appearance. "BUT YOU, (the person she is singing to), YOU KNOW ME BETTER."
Why is the singer singing? Why was this song written? What is the purpose of the song? Answer: She is singing for joy. She becomes happier by the end of the song. She is inspired by her own words. She wrote the song to express her joy and to thank her future lover for being there and for understanding her. IT IS A GREAT SONG for people who are sad.
Why is this an important song? What happens in you when you hear this song?
What will happen later in the song, after the song ends? Answer: I think the singer will marry the other person. They have such a strong connection. She will wake up in the morning and they will embrace and face the world's problems together.
So, do you see? THIS IS A BIG PIECE OF HOMEWORK or you can write this now. You can send your answer from a computer or from your phone. PRIZES for students who send answers and questions.
